Balthazar is a Guernsey steak and seafood restaurant, perfectly located at The Quay, St Peter Port and commanding a lovely year round view of visiting boats and yachts. Our welcome is warm, our drinks are cold, and we aspire to make everyone who walks past our iconic neon angel wings feel like a member of the Balthazar family.

About The Big Eat

This April and we’re celebrating everything that makes our islands so deliciously unique with the Big Eat Guernsey.

Throughout the month, the festival showcases four themed experiences, each with special events and bespoke festival menus created exclusively for April.

From the fresh air and adventure of The Great Outdoors, to meeting the people behind the produce in Meet the Locals, there’s something for every foodie to enjoy. Discover hidden flavours and wild ingredients with Foraging and Fine Dining, or experience French Connection, a celebration of French food culture featuring a range of events — including the Breton Market and La Grande Fromage Tour.

A Locally Inspired Set Menu

For Big Eat Guernsey, we’ll be serving a locally themed set menu, showcasing key ingredients sourced close to home. The menu highlights Guernsey producers and seasonal flavours, reimagined through our kitchen’s playful, generous style.

Local Cider & Island Oysters

Taste the islands with a glass of Rocquettes — Guernsey’s celebrated local cider, crisp, refreshing, and full of character. To bring you the flavours of the sea, each Guernsey cider is served with a fresh oyster from Herm, on the house. Orchard meets ocean in one perfectly balanced pairing.

The Grande Fromage Tour

We’re delighted to be one of 15 participating venues taking part in The Grande Fromage Tour across St Peter Port this April. Pick up your Fromage Passport, explore the town, and enjoy cheese-inspired dishes and drinks as you walk the tour. You’ll have the whole month of April to collect stamps from participating venues.

Collect at least three stamps and you’ll be entered into a prize draw to win a £750 voucher, redeemable at your favourite participating venues.

The Tomatini

A true Balthazar original, the Tomatini is our locally inspired cocktail celebrating the rich heritage of Guernsey tomato growing.

It’s a nod to childhood memories of my grandparents’ vine houses — rows of ripening tomatoes and that unmistakable, heady, intoxicating aroma in the air. A scent that instantly takes you back: green, warm, and unmistakably Guernsey.

Fresh, savoury, and quietly nostalgic, the Tomatini captures that moment in a glass, blending personal memory with island tradition, reimagined the Balthazar way.

Chicken & Champagne

We’ll be hosting a very special Big Eat dinner in partnership with Laurent-Perrier. Guests will enjoy a guided tasting of several Champagnes from their exquisite range, with tasting notes and insight shared by Guy from Laurent-Perrier, bringing the character and craftsmanship of each Champagne to life.

And because some rules are meant to be broken, we’ll be pairing it all with one of our greatest guilty pleasures — fried chicken and Champagne. The evening is themed Chicken & Champagne: relaxed, indulgent, and unapologetically fun.
